Hmmm... another HP dropped by someone careless it seems. Sometimes HP send just a replacement LCD panel, sometimes we get the casing surround too. I'll try and cover both in this guide so follow the steps that are applicable to you.

Step 1. Remove the battery.
Replacing LCD and surround: undo the four screws on the rear that hold the screen hinges in place.
Replacing LCD only: skip this step.

Step 2.
Replacing LCD and surround: use a small flat-blade screwdriver to carefully prise up the button panel....
Replacing LCD only: skip this step.

Step 3.
Replacing LCD and surround: .... and remove the button panel from the laptop. You'll need to unplug it's connector as you remove it.
Replacing LCD only: skip this step.

Step 4.
Replacing LCD and surround: Remove the screws that hold the hinges in place.
Replacing LCD only: skip this step.

Step 5.
Replacing LCD and surround: skip this step.
Replacing LCD only: remove the eight rubber pads by prising them up with a knife and undo the screw located under each pad.

Step 6.
Replacing LCD and surround: skip this step.
Replacing LCD only: using a small flat-blade screwdriver, work around the front surround gently prising it off.

Step 7.
Replacing LCD and surround: skip this step.
Replacing LCD only: undo the screw at each corner to release the panel from the rear casing. Unclip the black and white wifi antenna cables from the metal hinge brackets up the sides of the LCD panel so the panel can be lifted free. Once the panel is released, you will need to unscrew it from the metal hinge brackets and disconnect its cables. I've not covered this here as I wasn't doing a panel replacement but it will be similar to the nc2400 procedure detailed here (see steps 7 - 9).

Step 8.
Replacing LCD and surround: remove the three keyboard screws from the underside of the laptop (they are labelled with a keyboard diagram).
Replacing LCD only: skip this step.

Step 9.
Replacing LCD and surround: slide down the four keyboard clips and lift out the keyboard. Disconnect the keyboard and pointer ribbon cables as you remove the keyboard.
Replacing LCD only: skip this step.

Step 10.
Replacing LCD and surround: use a knife to carefully prise out the trackpad and either disconnect it or simply move it out of the way.
Replacing LCD only: skip this step.

Step 11.
Replacing LCD and surround: removing the trackpad reveals the WiFi card. Disconnect both the black and the white antenna cables and unthread them from their clips along the casing above the motherboard.
Replacing LCD only: skip this step.

Step 12.
Replacing LCD and surround: lift out the LCD and it's surround.
Replacing LCD only: skip this step.

Reassembly is the reversal of disassembly.
